Thomas Woytko is a versatile low brass doubler origanally based in Minnesota and is currently touring with the MEAN GIRLS National Tour and Executive Director of the JAM Concert Series. Thomas began his undergrad seeking a bass trombone performance and finished with a Jazz studies degree at University of Minnesota Duluth. Thomas has studied with Derek Bromme, Ryan Frane, and Nick Finzer.

JAM Concert Series

The JAM Concert Series is dedicated to enriching Duluth’s Jazz culture through annual concert series held in April. Every year JAM provides performance opportunities for 20 different ensembles at various venues across the Twin Ports including Duluth Cider, Lake Superior Brewing, Dovetail Cafe, and Northern Waters Smokehaus, fostering exposure and appreciation for Duluth’s vibrant jazz scene. Each week during Jazz Appreciation Month, Twin Ports audiences had the opportunity to attend two unique concerts. One concert featured a small jazz ensemble followed by an inclusive jam session, inviting participation from students and community members alike. The other concert is a larger concert including a local school’s ensemble and a professional ensemble.

Off the Record is a PDF book I created to help bands create a solid setlist with arrangements that go beyond reading lead sheets from the REAL BOOK. This book contains ten (plus two bonus!) arrangements of jazz standards for ensembles from trio up to sextet. Also included is a brief history and information about the specific arrangement which can be helpful talking points on the gig.
